Capital Lakefair Festival

We are proudly celebrating the 69th year, and our theme, "Let the Medieval Magic Begin," reflects both the fun and the rich tradition that Lakefair has brought to our community for nearly seven decades.

The Rose Planting will take place Saturday, July 18th at 3:15PM. A shuttle will take attendees from the host hotel to Tivoli Fountain, in front of the Washington State Capital Building on Capital Way.  Please be in front  of the hotel no later 2:45PM. If needed, the closest address to navigate is Capital Way S & 14th Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. After the planting it is an 8-10 minute walk to the start of the parade. Members wear whites, capes, hats, and gloves. New members without  whites please wear green jackets and black pants.

Parade starts at 5:00 pm Saturday. Nothing can be handed out to spectators during the parade. This includes sticky roses.

There will be a van for Rosarians wishing to march in both the Battleground and Olympia Lakefair parades. The cost will be $15. Go to the Battleground parade webpage to register. There is room for 12 riders. Please arrive at the Holiday Inn Jantzen Beach by 7:50 AM. We typically have lunch at the Margarita Factory in Battleground after the parade and then travel to Olympia in time for the Rose Planting at 3:15. We will leave Olympia after the parade, and usually stop for dinner on the way home, often at the McMinnimans in Kalama. Expected arrival back in Jantzen Beach by 9-9:30 PM.
