Christmas for Kids Shopping Day!

Save the Date for December 6, 2023

It's back and the Rosarians have been invited to attend this wonderful event. Royal Chaplain, Holly Morgan has agreed to sign us up for the 11:00 am time slot. But if you like you can also sign up for the full day from 9:00 am until 11:30 am. Please plan to arrive no later than 9:30 am in your Whites. Green Jackets are acceptable if you have not received your Whites yet. 

Please note that there have been some changes from previous years and the details are listed below.

1. The shoppers will only be shopping for the child in attendance and NOT the additional siblings. 

2. School Transportation costs and limited staff at the schools are considerations for the day of the event. In response to this, we have offered the schools to choose between:

a. Attending in person with their nominated children

b. Having bulk resources delivered to the school to be distributed to the children in need.

Based on school resources, we have a significant number that have requested the bulk resources be delivered to them for distribution to children in need. This results in a reduced number of schools and children attending the event.

While we will have fewer schools attending the day of the event, we will continue to help over 50 schools and more than 420 children in total.

3. Volunteers Needed

a. Child Shopper Volunteers: Based on the number of schools attending in person we are estimating needed approximately 160 people to shop with children (assuming most people shop as a group of 2 volunteers with one child.

b. All Day Volunteers: We will need All Day Volunteers to help with the multiple stations such as check-in, Santa photos, check-out/bagging, etc.

c. Volunteer Times: We are finalizing the shopping times with the schools and currently shopping times will begin at 10:00 am. 

With changing times, we have to be flexible to meet multiple needs and continue to provided coats and clothing to children in need. We believe these changes will be successful in accomplishing this.

The success of the event is dependent on great volunteers like all of you!
