If you would like to bring something for the students at the Community Transitional School, one of our Rosarian Foundation charities and also Marilyn's favorite, donations would be most welcomed, but do not feel obliged to do so.

The school is dedicated to meeting the educational needs of pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade children whose families are homeless, in transition or experiencing other poverty-related crises.  During the course of the school year, enrollment averages around 225 students (ages 4-14) who live in motels, shelters, cars, or homes of friends or relatives.  School buses go out each morning to collect the children, wherever they may be, to provide them with a measure of stability in their lives.

Each year Marilyn collects school supplies, shoes, and boys’ and girls’ warm and washable clothing, such as sweatshirts and jeans, socks and underwear.  New clothing is such a thrill for these youngsters, and it makes them feel valued.  (No used clothing, please.). Checks made out to CTS are always VERY welcome.  Monetary contributions are used to provide bus transportation for the students.  Gifts should be unwrapped, and they will be given out throughout the school year, not just for Christmas.

Marilyn’s guests have always been very generous in their support of the school.  If you would like a receipt for your donation, please attach to your package your name, address and estimated value of your gift.  All check donors automatically receive receipts.
