Centennial Celebration

Formed in 1912, the Royal Rosarians promote the best interests of the City of Portland and the Portland Rose Festival.  In their trademark white suits and straw hats they are by Mayoral proclamation the "Official Greeters and Ambassadors of Goodwill for the City of Portland".

For one hundred years the unwavering mission of the Royal Rosarians has been to promote the best interests of the City of Portland and the Portland Rose Festival.

As Ambassadors of Goodwill and Official Greeters for the City of Portland, Royal Rosarians welcome visiting dignitaries from around the world and host hundreds of out-of-town visitors each year.  We march in parades throughout the world, promoting the Rose as the Queen of Flowers and Portland the Rose Capitol of the World.  The Royal Rosarians are a non-profit, civic organization and all services rendered by its members are gratuitous.

We have a legacy of tradition in our Ceremonies and Pageantry.  Our world famous Airport Greeting Ceremony proudly proclaims that Portland is truly the City of Roses.  The pageantry of our Knighting and Rose Planting Ceremonies honors worthy individuals in Portland and around the world during yearly Royal Rosarian Ambassadorial trips.

We support the City of Portland by providing Community Service through the Royal Rosarian Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) Corporation.   The Royal Rosarian Foundation focuses on helping "Children at Risk" in the Portland area through our ROSES Programs (Rosarians Offering Support to Encourage Students).  These include: Portland Public Schools field trip assistance, "Christmas for Kids" and Portland Youth Music programs.  Our annual Newsmakers Banquet honors citizens who have made a significant impact in our community or have done particularly newsworthy deeds.  To learn more about the Royal Rosarian Foundation visit their web site at www.royalrosarianfoundation.org.
